These exercises equip you for the most important type of physical fitness, the kind that preps you for real-life, daily living stuff like bending, twisting, lifting, loading, pushing, pulling, squatting and hauling.

In other words, to drop one pound a week, you must have a deficit of 500 calories a day. If we subtract 500 calories from our food per day, we get a loss of 1 pound a week. If we add in exercise and can burn an extra 500 calories a day as well, this will lead to the loss of 2 pounds a week.
